Now, we are in Winter, and it is a perfect time for you to shock your taste buds with some great fruits that will have you walking around with more energy than you know what to do with. As a San Diego Personal Trainer, I have picked the top 5 fruits that have the most health-boosting potential.

Here are the top 5 health-boosting fruits for Winter:

Persimmons – The antioxidants in persimmons can help control diabetes and the cell damage that it causes. You can serve this fruit with prosciutto and fresh mozzarella.

Pomegranate – Pomegranate seeds are high in polyphenols, plant chemicals that fight inflammation. Mix the seeds into oatmeal for more flavor and crunch.

Kiwifruit – One kiwi contains about 100 mgs. of immunity-boosting vitamin C. You can add kiwi fruit to a spinach salad.

Guava – One cup of raw guava contains more than 8,500 micrograms of the anti-oxidant lycopene, which may help prevent coronary artery disease. Pair it with blue cheese and figs for a snack.
