Getting Fit
in the Orange County
In today’s
world, people are getting fatter and fatter, as
they are losing their health and vitality day by
day. This is especially true in America. America
has become the fattest country in the world.
With a fast food spot at every corner, the
two-income family and a lifestyle based on
convenience, it is only going to get worse.
Living here in
Orange County, we have the perfect environment
to get in shape and have fun doing it. The
number one reason people fail at a fitness
program is because they do not enjoy the process
and they bite off more than they can chew,
becoming overwhelmed, and eventually burnt out.
So, what is the
key to getting fit with success? Simple, you
have to enjoy your fitness program and make
incremental changes. For example, we had a
client who loved to play basketball. So, his
cardio was playing one on one basketball three
to four times per week in Laguna Beach. He had
so much fun doing it that he never missed a game
of basketball which gave him the consistency he
needed that ultimately helped him lose 26 lbs.
in 3 months.
I recommend
taking advantage of our unique environment and
get yourself to the beach. Beach workouts are
great. Walking on the sand will provide more
resistance than walking on concrete, which will
help you burn more calories and also increase
your cardiovascular fitness. And if you want to
turn it up a notch, you can turn that idle walk
into a heart-pumping run.
I suggest you
bring some friends to make it even more
enjoyable and to keep each other accountable.
You and your friends can play a game of beach
volleyball, which will help tone your back and
arms and give you a great cardio workout. No net
in sight, grab a ball or frisbee and toss it
around with a buddy.
Feel like
getting wet, grab a boogie board or simply just
go swimming. The water will provide you with
much resistance, which is definitely going to go
a long way in toning your muscles and increasing
your stamina. Feeling playful, get down in the
sand with your kids and build a sand castle.
There is so much
you can do at the beach. Beach workouts are so
much fun, that you will soon forget that you are
exercising. Once you realize you can get into
shape, while breathing in fresh air and
overlooking breathtaking ocean views, you will
be going back again and again.
