How To Get Rid Of Love Handles

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

Love handles are disgusting.  I don’t think anyone finds them attractive in way, unless a person loves fatties.  Love handles accumulate as the overall body fat percentage increases.  This is more of a problem for men, as men hold most of their fat in their waistline, and women hold most of their fat in their butt and thighs.

Being an Orange County Personal Trainer, I have seen many bodies, both men and women, that are carry large of amounts of fat around their waist.  And it is not pretty.

The best way to get rid of love handles to decrease overall body fat, through a combination of weight resistance, diet, and cardio.  You should lift weights about 3 to 4 times per week for at least 45 minutes.  Do some abdominal work about 2 times per week, but there is no need to work your oblique muscles directly.

Eat a clean diet, consisting of more raw foods.  Count your calories, so you know exactly what you are taking in.  This is crucial for continued success.

And as far as cardio, I recommend interval training such as wind sprints and stadiums.  This type of stop and go cardio will help burn alot of fat and shake alot of it off your butt and hips.

Irvine Personal Trainer’s Top 3 Fat-Loss Foods

Friday, February 13th, 2009

Personal Training in Irvine has been great, helping people lose fat and get into great shape.  But, part of getting into great shape, is not only exercising, but also what you eat.  There are 3 outstanding foods that help you burn fat.

First, egg whites.  Egg whites are awesome.  Not only are they a great souce of high quality protein, but they have no fat.  This helps you build quality muscle and ignite your metabolism, burning more fat than ever.

Second, broccoli.  Broccoli, along with all your greens, are a great source of rich vitamins and nutrients.  Also, it takes a lot more calories to digest broccoli that it contains itself.

And third, salmon.  This is great fish, not only is it a great source of quality protein, but salmon also has a high content of quality fats, known as unsaturated fats.

Orange County Personal Trainer Improves Marriages

Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

That’s right, I am not only an Orange County Personal Trainer, but I am also a marriage counselor.  I know, you are probably thinking, “what is this guy talking about?”  Well, couples that stay fit together have better marriages than those that don’t.

I have been personal training in Orange County for several years now, and from my experience, the couples that I have seen that work out and value their health, not only have much more in common, but also have much better marriages.  Besides, what a great way to bond with your mate.  Staying or getting in shape with your significant other will do so much for not only your marriage, but your body and health as well.

Train hard and eat even smarter.

Why America Is FAT?

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

America is fat.  Fatter than ever.  And is only going to get worse.  American’s culture has changed, which is also affecting their waistline.  Today, both the husbands and wives are working, leaving little time for good old fashioned home cooking.  Every corner you see a fast food joint, promising healthy meals.  What a joke.

Also, there is so many drugs and perservatives in the foods.  And it is these drugs that are you making Americans fat.  It wasn’t always like this.  Twenty years ago, people were not fat like this.  But, due to the overabundance of fast food places, processed foods, and lack of time, people are just getting fatter and fatter.

And the FDA does not care about you or your health.  They have been bought off by all the big food manufacturers, whose bottom line is pure profits.  So, what can we do to improve our health and our waistlines?  Simple.  Start eating more raw foods cooked at home.  Start cutting all the fast food out.  Avoid all the sodas and caloric drinks out there.  Eat alot of fruits of vegetables.  Trust me, once you start doing these simple things, you not only be dropping unwanted pounds, but also feel much healthier.

Remember, you are what you eat.  EAT SMART!

Why In-Home Personal Training!

Monday, July 14th, 2008

In-home personal training is becoming more and more popular, especially here in Orange County.  There are so many benefits to in-home personal training.  You do not have to drive to the gym or a personal trainer’s studio.  You do not have to wait for equipment or deal with crowds as you do at a gym.  You will save alot of your time not fighting busy traffic and you will not waste gas.  If you have children, you will not have to worry about finding a babysitter.  And last, but not least, you will be much more successful training at home because you will be much more consistent, since you are less likely to miss sessions.

You can get a great workout with in-home personal training.  All you need are free weights, a stability ball, resistance bands, and the right personal trainer who will motivate you.  In-home personal training is the wave of the future.  More and more people are doing it with great success.  And more and more personal trainers are adding in-home personal training to their services.

Machines or Free Weights? Which is Better?

Monday, July 14th, 2008

You hear all the time, “should I use machine or free weights?”  Some people think machines are better than free weights in developing the body and losing body fat.  And there are others that will argue that point, saying free weights are better.  Well, I am going to put an end to that argument once and for all.  Nothing compares to free weights.

Free weights have so many benefits that machines do not.  First, lifting free weights are much more difficult than using machines.  That means you will be working your muscles more with free weights than with machines, giving you greater gains and more calorie burning.

Second, free weights work your stabilizer muscles, the muscles that give you your balance.  Machines do not.  So, free weights will improve your overall balance and increase your muscle size and strength much more and faster than machines.  Actually, with machines, you are very limited on how much muscle and strength you can gain.  With free weights, you are not.

There you have it.  There is no comparison between free weights and machines.  If you want to increase your metabolism, burn more calories, really re-sculpt your body, increase your strength and muscle, than you better start lifting some free weights, and watch your body make amazing results in a short period of time.

Yours in good health,

How To Find The Right Personal Trainer In Orange County

Sunday, July 13th, 2008

Orange County is full of personal trainers, making it difficult to find the right Orange County personal trainer that is going to deliver the results you want. Sadly, most of them are not worth the money you spend. So, let’s make sure you hire the right personal trainer.

First, they need to be in great shape. This is obvious. If you are looking to hire a personal trainer and he or she is sporting a gut, which is definitely not a good sign. Your personal trainer should exemplify health and fitness. They should be in better shape then you and look like a personal trainer.
Second, they need to be certified and knowledgeable? There are exceptions. I have met some phenomenal trainers who are not certified. But, for the most part, most of your great trainers are going to be certified and have a great degree of health and fitness knowledge. A great way to check on their knowledge is to ask for references.

Third, your personal trainer must be both positive and supportive. If your trainer is not supportive and does not have a positive attitude, you are going to have a very difficult time getting motivated and achieving results. Your trainer is there to motivate you to push yourself beyond what you think is possible. Your trainer is your support system, keeping you accountable to reach your fitness goals in specific time frames. That is what you need.

Fourth, your personal trainer needs to be reliable. For you to be successful, your trainer needs to be consistent, on time, and dependable. The key to your success is going to be how consistent you are and your personal trainer is the main ingredient for that to happen. Do not settle for less!

And fifth, your personal trainer must know a lot about of nutrition and how it pertains to you. Many personal trainers know a little about nutrition, particularly what they read in health and fitness magazines. But, you need someone who understands the chemical process and the hormonal response to different foods. For most people, nutrition is 80% of the battle for people to lose weight and get fit. This is crucial for your success.
