How To Get Rid Of Love Handles

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

Love handles are disgusting.  I don’t think anyone finds them attractive in way, unless a person loves fatties.  Love handles accumulate as the overall body fat percentage increases.  This is more of a problem for men, as men hold most of their fat in their waistline, and women hold most of their fat in their butt and thighs.

Being an Orange County Personal Trainer, I have seen many bodies, both men and women, that are carry large of amounts of fat around their waist.  And it is not pretty.

The best way to get rid of love handles to decrease overall body fat, through a combination of weight resistance, diet, and cardio.  You should lift weights about 3 to 4 times per week for at least 45 minutes.  Do some abdominal work about 2 times per week, but there is no need to work your oblique muscles directly.

Eat a clean diet, consisting of more raw foods.  Count your calories, so you know exactly what you are taking in.  This is crucial for continued success.

And as far as cardio, I recommend interval training such as wind sprints and stadiums.  This type of stop and go cardio will help burn alot of fat and shake alot of it off your butt and hips.

Irvine Personal Trainer’s Top 3 Fat-Loss Foods

Friday, February 13th, 2009

Personal Training in Irvine has been great, helping people lose fat and get into great shape.  But, part of getting into great shape, is not only exercising, but also what you eat.  There are 3 outstanding foods that help you burn fat.

First, egg whites.  Egg whites are awesome.  Not only are they a great souce of high quality protein, but they have no fat.  This helps you build quality muscle and ignite your metabolism, burning more fat than ever.

Second, broccoli.  Broccoli, along with all your greens, are a great source of rich vitamins and nutrients.  Also, it takes a lot more calories to digest broccoli that it contains itself.

And third, salmon.  This is great fish, not only is it a great source of quality protein, but salmon also has a high content of quality fats, known as unsaturated fats.

How To Get Muscular Legs

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009

Most men have trouble building their leg muscles.  I am constantly asked how to get big legs.  Well, legs are much tougher because they require more endurance and intensity to train.  But, everyone can increase their leg muscularity.

Firt, you should incorporate the basic exercises to build big legs.  These are the barbell squat, hack squat, and leg press.  I also suggest doing dead lifts from the floor, as that will improve overall body mass.  That is very important.

Second, if you have poor blood flow in your legs, then you need to perform some higer reps mixed in with you current routine.  I suggest doing reps as high as 15 to 20 reps, to get adequate blood flow into your legs.

Third, remember that your legs need more rest between workouts than any other muscle group.  Large muscles take a longer period of time to recuperate.

Fourth, make sure you are eating enough good, clean food to promote muscle tissue repair and growth.

And last, if you are struggling to increase your leg mass, avoid cardio at all costs.  It will only take away from your gains.
